Maps Mystery! Why did Lake Ontario get a new name... or did it?

Hey Super Explorers! Have you ever looked at a map on your phone or tablet? Maybe Apple Maps or Google Maps? They help us find places, right?

Well, a while ago, there was a grown-up news story that said Apple (the company that makes iPhones and Apple Maps) was going to change the name of a real lake called Lake Ontario to something totally different: "Lake America"! This was supposedly because of a special order from a grown-up leader.

That sounded super weird because lakes usually have their own special names for a very long time! So, what actually happened? Turns out, it was a big misunderstanding or a prank that got spread around!
