Desert Pipeline Debate: Kids, Grown-ups Speak Up for the Planet!

Hey Future Earth Heroes!

Sometimes, grown-ups plan big projects, like building a super-long pipeline to carry natural gas across parts of Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico. Think of a pipeline like a giant straw for gas! This one, called the Desert Southwest Pipeline, would go through some beautiful desert lands.

But guess what? Lots of people, including a group called the Sierra Club Grand Canyon Chapter, are saying, "Hold on a minute!" They're worried about what this pipeline might do to the environment, like the desert animals and plants, and even the air we breathe.
