Giant Electric Cranes Take Over Antwerp's Busy Port!
Imagine a mechanical giant that runs on clean battery power and can lift a herd of elephants without coughing out any smelly diesel smoke!
Busy seaports around the world are packed with ships delivering toys, electronics, and food. Normally, giant metal harbor cranes lift these heavy containers using engines that guzzle diesel fuel and puff out clouds of gray exhaust. But at the Port of Antwerp in Belgium, clean energy is getting super-sized!
A logistics company called Katoen Natie has introduced brand-new, all-electric harbor cranes. Instead of burning fuel, these mechanical giants plug straight into clean electricity. Two are already hard at work on the docks, and four more are arriving soon to build a futuristic fleet of six plug-in powerhouses.
