Uh Oh! Robotaxis Hit a Bump: What's Up With Tesla's Cybercab?
Imagine hopping into a car with no driver! Tesla's trying to make that happen, but it's not all smooth sailing.
Picture this: a cool, futuristic car rolls up, and there's no one behind the wheel! That's the super-duper exciting idea behind Tesla's Cybercab. These special cars, also called **robotaxis**, are supposed to drive themselves and pick you up like a regular taxi, but with a robot brain in charge.
Recently, Tesla let a few of these Cybercabs start driving around in a city called Austin, in Texas. It sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, right? Getting to ride in a car that drives itself is a pretty big deal!
But even though it's super cool, some folks are starting to ask lots of questions. Things like, "Is it really safe?" or "Will there be enough cars for everyone?" and "How do we even call one?" It seems like rolling out brand new technology, even awesome self-driving cars, can be trickier than it looks.
