Instagram Brings Its Free 'Edits' Video Maker to Mac Desktops!
Tired of squinting at a tiny phone screen to trim your videos? A big-screen upgrade is here!
Have you ever tried editing a video on a tiny phone screen? Pinching, tapping, and trying to cut clips down to the exact millisecond can make your thumbs feel like they just ran a marathon!
Instagram is giving thumbs a break by launching its free video editing app, called Edits, on Mac desktop computers. Previously only available on smartphones, the desktop version gives creators a much bigger canvas to arrange clips, sound effects, and captions.
There is one small catch: your Mac needs an Apple Silicon processor (like the M1 chip or newer) to run it, and you need an Instagram account to sign in. Thanks to those speedy computer brains, the app can export finished creations in ultra-sharp 4K resolution.
